Nebraska Licensed Counselor and Therapist
No Matter the Distance, Help is Available
Connie Wolf, Licensed Counselor
Having worked as a counselor for more than 17 years, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact that counseling can have on individuals. My focus is on providing support to individuals who are struggling with unexpected change, grief and loss, as well as those who have been affected by challenging relationships.
In my work, I operate on three central principles: firstly, that people are doing the best they can; secondly, that with the right support, clients can develop skills to address their concerns and improve their wellbeing; and thirdly, that change is an inevitable part of life, and it is important to focus on what we can control.
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor and a certified clinical supervisor, with a Master's Degree in Counseling. I hold licenses to practice in several states, including Maryland, Florida, Nebraska, Maine and Indiana, and I am also licensed to provide tele-health counseling in these states.
What is Grief?
Grief is a natural and complex emotional response to loss. It is a process of adjusting to life after a significant change or event, such as the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or a major life transition. Grief is a universal experience that can affect people in different ways, and there is no "right" or "wrong" way to grieve.
Grief can manifest in various forms, including emotional, physical, and cognitive symptoms. Emotional symptoms of grief may include feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, and loneliness. Physical symptoms can include fatigue, loss of appetite, sleep disturbances, and changes in weight. Cognitive symptoms may involve difficulty concentrating, memory problems, and preoccupation with the loss.
The grieving process is unique to each individual and can last for varying lengths of time, depending on the person and the circumstances of the loss. It is important to allow oneself time to grieve and to seek support from family, friends, or a mental health professional if needed.
